Oh what a year it has been... We began 2017 with the groundbreaking at Rancho Silverado Stables and will end the year with the completion of our first arena, officially called the “Carbondale Arena”.

CARBONDALE ARENA - Representing the rich history of the canyon

Carbondale was a historical mining town in Silverado Canyon built on the flats where Santiago and Silverado Creek converged. The town was established in the early 1880s when coal was discovered nearby. The site is marked as California State Historical Landmark No. 228, by a plaque located across the street from the ranch.     Carbondale Ranch, our predecessor, carried the Carbondale name into the modern day, riding facility for horse enthusiasts in the area. In honor of the rich history of Carbondale, and the original arena that has served so many equestrians, we are officially naming the newly restored riding ring, the Carbondale Arena.

Taking Every Precaution In the wake of the recent devastating fires, we are grateful for the additional requirements from the fire department to meet building code.  While these measures have caused significant expense, and make for a much more complicated construction process, we feel a lot better knowing we’re doing as much as possible to help prevent the spread of fire in the future.
